Allô! – The Team
Allô! We’re a team of 10 people ready to welcome you with warmth and kindness. Each of us brings our own unique touch to create a friendly and inspiring space. Come meet us and discover what makes our team so special!
Michèle, Student Life Advisor

I am fortunate to have been actively involved in the creation of the Allô! program and to have coordinated it since the very beginning! What motivates me every day is working with the team to to develop a wide range of services and activities to make your experience at UQAM and in Québec as positive and enriching as possible.
Passionate about travel and discovering new cultures, I’m also an outdoor enthusiast: sea kayaking, hiking, and cross-country skiing are some of my favorites! And when I’m not out in nature, I love to unwind by playing the piano.
Naturally cheerful, I’m easily carried away by enthusiasm: whether it’s for the simple joys of everyday life or for exciting new projects!
I truly look forward to meeting you, chatting with you, and supporting you throughout your journey at UQAM!
Maude, Student Life Advisor

Like the Allô! program, I’m creative, energetic, and committed to promoting an open, inclusive world.
My two main responsibilities are helping students find housing and supporting the integration of allophone students into a French-speaking university. If that sounds like you, don’t hesitate to knock on my door! With me, we can chat about anything and everything or even remake the world! Fair warning: if you start talking about climbing or what you’re reading, be prepared — I’ll jump into the conversation full force!
Isaline, Student Life Advisor

Guided by my curiosity about people and my enthusiasm for what life has to offer, I always put a lot of passion into what I do!
That probably explains my diverse background: I first worked in tourism, helping Europeans discover Canada and the United States, before embarking on a wonderful several-year adventure as a pastry chef.
Originally from France, I’ve been living in Canada for over 10 years, so I understand well the realities of integration and the challenges that come with immigration.
Today, my role is to support you at the Faculty of Science, answering your questions and helping you navigate the small (and big!) challenges you might face as an international student. If you stop by the Allô space, I hope you’ll feel a little bit at home. And who knows, we might end up talking about travel, food, astrology… Any topic is welcome!
Véronique, Recreation Technician

Organized, versatile, and sociable by nature, I have mainly worked in the academic environment. This experience has helped me develop strong adaptability skills and a keen ability to listen to each person’s needs.
I chose to join the Allô! program out of a desire to contribute to the integration and well-being of international students.
Avid reader, passionate traveler, and lover of cultural events, I also cherish quiet moments in nature.
Feel free to come visit me to chat and ask any questions you may have. My office is located in the Allô space!
Emanuelle, Recreation Technician

Always looking for new adventures, I’m an optimistic and open-minded person, and I’m very happy to be joining the Allô! team!
My role is to help new students integrate smoothly. Together with my team, I’ll be working to organize engaging and inspiring activities that will also give you the chance to meet new people.
Born and raised in Montréal, I love my city and enjoy helping others discover and rediscover it! I look forward to meeting you and sharing my passion for travel, the arts (dance, singing, theater, cinema…), and also discussing the best places to eat sweet or savory treats! Whatever the reason, I’ll be happy to take some time to chat, answer your questions, and support you throughout your journey!
Perrine, Logistics Support Assistant

I arrived in Montréal in 2022 and was able to fully integrate into university life and the local culture thanks to the Allô! program, which I have been involved with since March 2025. I handle student pairings, and the organization of outings and activities!
I’m currently completing my bachelor’s degree in Public Relations and will soon begin my master’s in Media Studies at UQAM. Originally from Brittany, France, you’ll often find me at the Allô! space — and I can definitely recommend some of the best bakeries and pastry shops in town! In my spare time, I hang out at Choq.ca, the student radio, where I create segments about life and news at UQAM.
Lara, Logistics Support Assistant

In 2020, I left my native Lebanon to settle in Québec, a place I quickly fell in love with. Five years after landing, I joined the Allô! program, where I have the chance to share my passion for Montréal. I’m currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in International Relations and International Law. I’m active in the student movement and have completed research internships at IEIM and INRS. In my free time, I play guitar (a lot), sing (badly), read (I try!), and ride my bike. As a big music lover, I’d love to find out what you listen to! I can’t wait to meet you, answer your questions, and chat about a thousand different topics.
Sarah, Welcome Agent

My name is Sarah. During my first year at UQAM as an international exchange student, I had the chance to participate in the Together During the Holidays pairing program. This enriching experience, along with the support I received, inspired me to get involved with the international student community myself. First a student in the Management School and then in the Faculty of arts, I would be delighted to assist you with your administrative steps and answer any questions you may have. I can also help you find a student association or group that matches your interests.
Amed, Welcome Agent

Hello! Friends, my name is Amed Touré KORDOHOU. I’m currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer and Electronic Systems. Curious and passionate about new technologies, I also love horses and enjoy horseback riding. I’m always on the lookout for new challenges.
Come meet me and the Allô! team!
Simon, Facilitator for Allophone Students

My name is Simon, and I am pursuing a PhD in Literary Studies at UQAM (co-supervised with the University of Paris 8). Passionate about arts and literature, I also greatly enjoy contemporary theatre — Québécois, French, and English-language productions.
I have a strong interest in cycling and running, which I practice as both a meditative and social activity. I love group board games, especially those that have you team up against the game itself. I also maintain a deep connection to my home neighborhood of Verdun and its little-known history.
